At first glance, WALKER is an enigmatic sculpture waiting to start moving. However, it is also a free standing structure supporting two PHANTOM loudspeakers from French high end audio company Devialet. WALKER was created for Temple Dongjingyuan in Beijing in order to create an immersive sound in an ancient wooden pagoda. Due to the heritage constrains, the Phantoms could not be fixed to any pillar. Temple Dongjingyuan wanted the 8 speakers to be placed at different heights at each corner of a square in order to create a surrounding sound highlighting the impeccable acoustic of this ancient hall. It had also to be visually pleasing for its discerning visitors. WALKER is available in bronze, brass, and black finish for double or single PHANTOM installation.
